“Sanitary servicing clears the way for unprecedented growth in King City. It took over 150 years for this village to reach a population of 5,000; now, with sanitary servicing, we will see the doubling of population within 6-8 years. This will have a very real impact not only on King City, but on Snowball, Kettleby the and surrounding rural areas. We need to control growth as best as we can. I have the relevant knowledge and the experience to help guide our municipality through the oncoming development wave”.

My boys Cole and Cody (the next Smothers Brothers) on the Mag this summer holding MY ten pound Pickerel.

My eldest son Cole (My Big Strapping Dude). He's 12 but he looks 16. I call him...Mini Me - but nor for long!

And More About Me, and My Roots in King City

This is me in June of 1985 at the Kastner's Cottage. I was pretty intense that day waiting for the call from Gerry McNamara and Dan Maloney. The scuttlebut was that the Leafs were going to draft an unranked prospect ahead of the number 1 ranked Wendel Clark. They took the safe route and drafted Wendel. I understood. But then who would have guessed at that time that I would have gone on to make literally hundreds of dollars to be the Councillor for Ward 1. Wendel's councillor at that! I think that's called "irony".

Here I am in the back row on the right. I was the top defenseman on this championship tyke team in the 1972-73 season. I wore number 2 like Ian Turnbull. The Team was Kingmark Homes and it was the inaugural season in the King City Arena, built by the King City Lions. I had 4 goals and 22 assists that year. I think Kent Atkins was the leading scorer and pretty much if he scored, I had touched the puck first, or at least tried to...because if Kent got hold of it, it was going in the net. I learned quickly, that points are almost as good as goals from a scouts perspective, so I would do anything to touch that puck, even if it meant elbowing Chris Raynor out of the way to get to it. In retrospect, this was the peak of my long and unremarkable hockey career. Chris Raynor is in front. Stephen..? Back left.
